The collodion wet process is an early photographic process. The collodion process requires the photographic material to be coated, sensitized, exposed in the camera while wet, and developed within about fifteen minutes, necessitating a portable darkroom. Frederick Scott Archer was credited with the invention of the process, which he created in 1848 and published in 1851.
